Eczema

By | May 4, 2009

At its root, eczema is really an intestinal issue. The integrity of the gut lining has been compromised in some manner that toxins are now leaking into the blood. The body in its wisdom, uses the skin (the largest eliminative organ the human body has) as the means to push this garbage out so it doesn’t do any serious damage. All in all, the body is communicating a toxicity crisis stemming from the gut.

You need to treat this from both sides… inside and out.

Resveratrol - Nature’s Longevity Nutrient and Anti-Cancer Weapon

By | March 3, 2009

Found in PRL’s DHLA Nano Complex

60 Minutes Episode on Resveratrol

The information presented by 60 Minutes is accurate, but the drug being promoted on this episode is just that, a DRUG.  PRL’s DHLA contains the natural form of this very beneficial nutrient.

Increasing Your Life Span. What if you could have a longer, healthier life — to the point of doubling your life span? Science is now uncovering nature’s longevity secrets, locked away inside plant molecules. Over 750 scientific studies have demonstrated the health-promoting properties of a special plant compound called resveratrol. A recent landmark study (2003) demonstrated that resveratrol was able to extend the life span of yeast cells by an incredible 60-80%. This study showed resveratrol was able to activate a “longevity gene” that is normally expressed (activated) only during caloric restriction (such as fasting). Since caloric restriction is known to extend maximum lifespan in mammals (such as mice), scientists speculated that humans also might be able to derive significant health and longevity benefits by orally supplementing with resveratrol. Although this study focused on yeast, a very simple life form compared to humans, the lifeextending results are believed to be applicable to humans since both yeast and humans have the same type of longevity gene. Other studies have shown that resveratrol is effective against many types of chronic diseases in humans, including cardiovascular disease, inflammatory conditions, age-related illnesses and even the ultimate chronic degenerative disease, cancer.

Resveratrol’s Remarkable Benefits The Anti-Aging Effect. Scientific studies performed with both animals and living cells have proven that resveratrol is able to promote more efficient intracellular repair, create healthier blood vessels and protect brain tissue. Research demonstrates resveratrol is able to deeply affect the center of a living cell’s nucleus to provide significant antioxidant protection as well as increasing cellular longevity. It activates an enzyme that prolongs the cell’s life, thus allowing more time for the cell to repair its DNA and live longer before the final activation of the cell’sP-53 self-destruct gene.

Calcium that Works

By | October 4, 2008

Most calcium products tend to promote remineralization of bone only, neglecting the tremendous need for remineralization of soft tissue (which includes all the body’s organs and glands) .  In addition, most companies do not provide a means of testing the body’s mineral reserves (via the pH) for regular monitoring.

Although replenishing minerals is of critical importance for bone physiology, little emphasis is typically given to replenishing minerals for soft tissue.  However, adequate soft tissue mineral levels are critical for optimal organ and gland function.  An individual may have adequate bone repletion while the soft tissue mineral levels badly suffer.  In addition, the most common sources of calcium are inadequate as agents to quickly replete lost bone and are also unable to replace soft tissue.

HPV Vaccine Blamed for Teen’s Paralysis

By | September 25, 2008

A month after 13 year old Jenny Tetlock was vaccinated against the HPV virus, she missed the lowest hurdle in gym class. It was the first sign of a degenerative muscle disease that 15 months later left her nearly completely paralyzed.

Her father, Philip Tetlock, a professor at UC-Berkeley, has embarked on an odyssey to find out whether the vaccine, Gardasil, is to blame.

Tetlock is not the only one concerned. The public watchdog group Judicial Watch has been periodically obtaining adverse event reports on Gardasil from the FDA. 10 deaths have been linked to Gardasil since September 2007, and there have been 140 reports so far this year of serious side effects such as miscarriage and Guillain-Barré syndrome.

New Stealth Chemicals Hidden in Your Food

By | September 25, 2008

This article is a reprint from Dr. Dan Curriden, Lighthouse Chiropractic

http://www.lighthousechiropractic.org/

If you pick up a can of soup and find that the sodium levels are lower than you expected, or that a food item advertises it has “less sugar” or “no MSG” … then there may be cause for alarm.

A relatively young company, Senomyx, may be responsible for the sodium and sugar levels falling in various grocery store items. They may be putting chemicals into your food right now, without telling you and without you even realizing. Under the law, they don’t have to.

The Dangers of Dishwashing

By | September 25, 2008

Since 2000, the American Medical Association (AMA) has been advising the Food and Drug Administration to closely monitor and possibly regulate the home use of antimicrobials. Not a bad idea, considering researchers discovered the use of antibacterial dish soaps and other products may be exposing consumers to significant quantities of chloroform.

This is because, when triclosan (a chemical known for its bacteria-fighting properties) is mixed with the chlorine in tap water, chloroform is born.

How does this affect consumer health? For starters, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has classified chloroform as a probable human carcinogen, or substance causing cancer. Moreover, as triclosan flows down drains, it makes its way into:

What’s So Bad About High-Fructose Corn Syrup Anyway?

By | September 25, 2008

In a study published in the June 4, 2004 edition of The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, researchers compared the effects of glucose and fructose on a number of hormonal factors. The test subjects who had fructose showed higher levels of the hormone ghrelin, which stimulates eating. In addition, patients who took the fructose-laced drink had a jump in blood fats, a risk factor for cardiovascular disease.

Researchers theorized drinks sweetened with glucose may not foster overeating because the release of insulin from the pancreas is triggered by glucose, which, in turn, tells people they aren’t hungry. Additionally, the liver handles glucose in a much healthier way than fructose. (detailed later)

Adverse drug reactions rise sharply

By | September 25, 2008

The number nearly triples since the FDA began a new reporting system in 1998. The main culprits are painkillers.

By Thomas H. Maugh II, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
September 11, 2007

The number of serious adverse events and deaths attributed to prescription medications has nearly tripled since the Food and Drug Administration initiated a system in 1998 to make it easier to report significant side effects, researchers said Monday.

Twenty percent of drugs accounted for 87% of adverse effects, and the biggest offenders were painkillers and drugs that modify the immune system to treat arthritis, according to the report in the Archives of Internal Medicine.

The Hidden Food Additive That Eats Your Brain

By | September 25, 2008

…and it might also be making you fat

I’m going to cut right to the chase and tell you that the hidden ingredient is MSG or monosodium glutamate. “Big deal,” you say, “I read labels and don’t buy products with MSG, and I make sure I order my Chinese food without it.” If so, let me first applaud your efforts. But unfortunately, you can’t stop there, as sneaky food manufacturers are hiding MSG under a variety of names. But before we go into that, let’s first answer:

What’s The Big Deal About MSG, Anyway?

The Four Downloads

By Kim | July 8, 2008

The Four Download Areas - Using the Medi-Body Packs

The “Four Download Areas” are four key, highly polarized, entry/exit areas of the body. When these areas are open and are in proper polarity, they assist in keeping the body healthy as well as assist in ongoing detoxification. When they are blocked (or out of polarity), the body’s bio-energetic pathways can stagnate (literally “backing up”) and can produce pain as well as many other symptoms. The Four Download Areas are both hands (front and back up to the wrist) and both feet (top and bottom up to the ankle). The hands and the feet contain hundreds of highly sensitive acupuncture points that are the main bio-energetic release areas for the entire body.

Medi-Blast Procedure
Detoxifying, Gentle Foot Bath for Full Body Toxin Chelation and Purification

What is the Medi-Blast? The Medi-Blast is a 50/50 blend of the Medi-Body Bath and Medi-Soak™. It is a gentle, but deeply purifying foot bath that directly pulls released toxins from pathways in the whole body. It is especially important after using the Medi-Body Pack™, Medi-Dental Pack™, and/or Castor Packs to avoid other areas of the body from “jamming” when toxins are released after detoxification sessions, especially for sensitive people, those that have been chronically ill or who have had dental problems. You may also use the Medi-Blast on any day alone by itself if you are feeling low energy or experiencing any detox symptoms.

The Almonds are Falling

By | May 22, 2008

Two handlers of conventional (non-organic) almonds each had an instance where the almonds they packed were contaminated with Salmonella. These two instances occurred over a period of 6 years. A few folks got tummy aches. This so roused the folks who control the almond industry that they mandated that the entire crop be fumigated. This is doubly tragic in that the almond crop has been short for the past three years. Finally, when they got a bumper crop, the largest ever, of 1.3 billion pounds, instead of rejoicing in the bountifulness of this California earth, albeit so abused, they can think of nothing better than to fumigate it. Your American heritage - fumigated! Something like 600,000,000 pounds will be treated with the remainder exported to civilized countries where fumigation is forbidden…. read more

Chemical Food Additives - Are They Slowly Killing Our Children?

By | May 22, 2008

By Lauralee
NewsTarget.com, January 17, 2008

Let me start by saying a chemical additive doesn’t necessarily ‘appear’ to be a problem immediately after ingestion. Quite often the effects are cumulative; a gradual build-up in the body produces roller-coaster days, some good, some bad. Some children are more sensitive to food chemicals and display immediate effects soon after ingestion of additives, colours in particular. In small amounts additives are not harmful. Effects are dose related and, tragically, dose for weight, children are consuming several times more additives than the acceptable daily intake (ADI). Before we get into the details of the most common problem foods, it is necessary to understand the testing and approval process, with emphasis on those factors that may confer the level of risk of toxic additives in infants and young children’s diets…read more

50 Harmful Effects of Genetically Modified Foods

By | May 22, 2008

By Nathan Batalion

Largely between 1997 and 1999, gene-modified (GM) ingredients suddenly appeared in 2/3rds of all US processed foods. This food alteration was fueled by a single Supreme Court ruling. It allowed, for the first time, the patenting of life forms for commercialization. Since then thousands of applications for experimental GM organisms have been filed with the US Patent Office alone, and many more abroad. Furthermore an economic war broke out to own equity in firms which either have such patent rights or control the food-related organisms to which they apply….read more
